Our preparations for the regional convention are in full swing! We are finalizing our performance plans, and working hard in each of the few rehearsals we have left. This year we will be singing for evaluation only - As many choruses did, we took a hard hit during the pandemic, which cut our numbers in half. We have also had many illnesses in the chorus, with several members at a time being sick, even currently. Some of our members are even singing a new part for the first time, just so we can have all four parts on stage! We have begun to completely rebuild after the pandemic, almost as if a new chorus. We have a new logo, new chorus color, new committees, new social activities, new web pages, and more! We are small, but hanging in there, and are excited to get back to a regional convention.
After several years away from the stage, we are taking a look at the makeup we had been using. We are keeping most of it the same, but are using a new foundation this year - we decided to try out the MaxFactor Pan Stik. We are also using new costumes this year, and are busy getting everyone fitted. We even got new jackets to wear off stage!
Early in the month our Birthday Club met at Buster’s Sports Bar and Restaurant in Ogdensburg, NY to celebrate our members with February birthdays. Our birthday gatherings will not be happening for the next couple months, just because we don’t have any birthdays to celebrate those months. We have returned to our previous (prior to the pandemic) rehearsal venue in Potsdam, NY. On the 14th we dressed up in red and pink for our Valentine’s Day rehearsal, and even shared some candy and chocolates! We have had several visitors join our rehearsals this month, and are excited to have a few prospective new members!
